Utopia Base TWOK Uniform: Backside View

Description

This photo is part of a set showcasing a major set of changes that I made to the very first TWOK Monster Maroon uniform I ever obtained in an attempt to finish improving and accurizing the outfit, once and for all.

Utopia Base, formerly known as Costume Base, is an online store based out of Singapore, Malaysia. Supposedly, they get their TWOK Monster Maroon uniforms "on consignment" and sell them off-the-rack as a full set, and that's how I had originally gotten mine, but it had started off being ill-fitting and badly inaccurate, and I've had to do a lot of work on the outfit since I first obtained it in February of 2011.

The belt loop on the back of the jacket has also gone through a lot of changes. It started off very high up on the middle of the jacket, a place it wasn't supposed to be. The first thing I did over the last four years was to have it lowered by almost three inches.  Combined with the truncation of the bottom part of the jacket, the lowered belt loop (the front belt loops were replaced outright, and then lowered as well) resulted in the jacket finally achieving more screen-accurate overall proportions.

Then, I made another major improvement when I noticed that the real TWOK Monster Maroon uniforms had a pattern sewn into their rear belt loops and asked my shop to duplicate it - many fans' TWOK uniforms do not have such a pattern because they failed to notice this detail. Even the Marco uniform didn't come with it stock (I had to have that added to the Marco as well).

However, although I consider this to be a fairly major revision, the design stitched into the rear belt loop isn't always easily visible, especially under camera flash or other sources of bright light.  By a random fluke, I discovered that when photographed under lighting conditions closer to natural daylight, otherwise "hidden" details like the uniform's gunmetal grey chains or the patterning on the rear belt loop become much more visible.
