The Wrath of Khan: Away Team/Landing Party Uniform

Description

Finally, here is one last collage of photos that shows what I deem my "completed" Away Team/Landing Party/Field Uniform Kit for 2283, the year in which the events of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" take place. The components of this set have all been described elsewhere, so I'll simply list them off here as a reminder of where I picked up all of these pieces.

The "Tricorder" I'm holding is actually not from "The Wrath of Khan" proper, but it is my only Movie Era Tricorder. Like my TWOK Phaser Carbine or Light Rifle, it was an original Inspired Prop Replica made by Triple-Fiction Productions and is a non-functional "stunt" or "dummy" prop that is mostly built from wood with foam buttons. This particular prop was a prototype; Casey Sullivan and his team have subsequently made a number of better variants for sale.

The TWOK-style Phaser Rifle is one of only four of its kind that have been produced by Triple-Fiction Productions. This one was the 2nd of the four, and the first one to literally be made to resemble the Atalskes Phaser-III/IV Pistol setup that was used in "The Motion Picture" and modified for "The Wrath of Khan" with a new color scheme, a new control panel and an added trigger stud among other changes. Like all of Casey's props, it is made from painted wood with foam buttons and is not functional. The other three known variants at this time is a "Star Trek"-inspired "Retro Concept Phaser Rifle," a lighter grey TMP-like variant of my own TWOK rifle, and a "Mirror Universe" variant with no control panel, a "sight"-like section on the top of the weapon, a different emitter and totally redesigned handgrips.

The outfit is being worn with a pair of non-blousing, "non-regulation" (i.e. non-canon) "Wrath of Khan" style trousers and my heeled Durango cowboy-style dress boots instead of the more appropriate blousing pants and rugged motorcycle-style reinforced ankle boots that I have set aside specifically for use with the TWOK Field Uniform because of their more practical "mountain/bad weather" look; I have always imagined the TWOK Field Jacket set to be a uniform kit developed for use in mountainous/icy habitats or bad weather conditions.

The components of the set are:

1. TWOK Landing Party Jacket = Cosplay Sky
2. TWOK Landing Party Vest = Elegant Whimsy Custom Costumes
3. TWOK Undershirt = Cosplay Sky
4. TWOK Pants, Non-Blousing = Cosplay Sky
5. Ankle Boots = Durango
6. TWOK Communicator = Diamond Select Toys/Art Asylum
7. TWOK Phaser Pistol = Diamond Select Toys/Art Asylum
8. TWOK Style Phaser Carbine = Triple-Fiction Productions
9. TMP Style Scientific Tricorder = Triple-Fiction Productions
10. Chest Badge = Cosplay Sky
11. Pips & Squeaks (Silver) = eBay seller, katarra8
12. Fleet Captain's Rank Insignia Pin = eBay seller, Intergalactic Trading
