TSFS Captain's Bomber Jacket by Cosplay Sky

Description

This collage of cosplay photos showcases the Cosplay Sky variant of the ST3/4/5 Senior Officer's Bomber Jacket uniform.  In this collage, the costume is depicted at multiple angles with a selection of pins - including a single variant Squeak and a unique "miniaturized" TWOK-style officer's chest badge of my own design that was made from a resin-cast (courtesy of Warrior Cosplay) and then hand-painted by me.  It is worn with a quilted-collar, custom-modified Cosplay Sky TWOK undershirt and black Cosplay Sky TWOK pants without cuffs or stirrups on the bottoms of the pant legs.

The Cosplay Sky version was the first of the two Chinese-made Bomber Jackets to come onto the market; it was available as early as midsummer 2013, when I became one of the first cosplayers to buy one. It remains the higher-quality and more accurate of the two alternative Bomber Jackets. If you have a choice between this one and the Hello Cosplay alternative, then I highly recommend that you get this one, even if it costs you a tiny bit more.

The color of this jacket is the only real strike against it as it's too light. Its pleather "lock-plate" actually has a functionality that is similar to the metal lock-plates of the real screen-used ST3/4/5 Bomber Jackets. The sleeves "blouse" or "gather" into the thinner sleeve-cuffs as they should. The padding on the side of the shoulder strap is correctly quilted, and the shoulder strap extends farther down the chest and back; the black oval on the chest is located about where it should be as well, and the "winglets" and "lapels" are a better - though not quite correct - size.

I should note that, unfortunately, Cosplay Sky has a tendency to sew on fake insignia on the shoulder strap, chest oval, and arm band. If you want to get the jacket done appropriately, you will need to contact Cosplay Sky and tell them clearly (and I suggest using picture diagrams with red circles around what must be removed) *NOT* to include the extra, false insignia.

Also, although the shoulder strap does extend down the back, it would appear that the Bomber Jacket should not be worn with the "tank wheel" security pin-on device on the rear of the shoulder strap. I don't understand why, and I sometimes do it anyway just for consistency with the TWOK Monster Maroon duty uniform, but when you see the back of the Bomber Jacket on screen, there is no tank wheel there.

Cosplay Sky makes the mistake of including false rank insignia on the shoulder strap, embroidered pseudo-"Pips" and "Squeaks" on the arm band, and a fake officer's chest badge on the chest oval. You will need to get those removed if you want to get one of these Bomber Jackets.  The jacket seen here can be purchased from this particular eBay listing: www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Trek-III…
