Raven Uniform 2013 Updates: Phase Two (Opened)

The updates that went into the uniform this time around are being billed as "2013: Phase Two" updates because they fall on the heels of another wave of upgrades or alterations that were done much earlier this year, where I'd had the false collar taken off, a new patch added to the rear belt loop, and a number of patches and buttons removed that I no longer had any use for.

The changes this time were just as drastic, or perhaps even more drastic, than the previous ones - this is why I put up that previous image showing a number of newly cast resin pieces that were to be used with the uniform, which I had made for me by a propmaker I met at a "Star Trek" cosplayers' Facebook group that I co-admin, as well as the chains that I'd gotten hand-sewn into the uniform coat flaps at a local alterations shop. Also, please note that these pictures were taken during the same rushed "preliminary costume test" that the TWOK Field Jacket pictures came from, and this is why I didn't wear my regulation Durango cowboy boots/dress boots with the uniform.

The revisions to this uniform for 2013/Phase II include:

*HAT*
1.) Safety-pin button removed & replaced with screw-back hat badge

*UNDERSHIRT*
2.) White TWOK turtleneck undershirt added (taken from Cosplay Sky's TWOK Field Jacket set)

*PANTS*
3.) Navy-blue non-blousing semi-elastic trousers added (taken from Cosplay Sky's TWOK Field Jacket set)

*COAT*
4.) Chest patch replaced w/ new resin-cast, custom-painted badge
5.) Epaulette buttons replaced w/ 2 new resin-cast, larger buttons, one per shoulder
6.) Button on rear of shoulder strap replaced w/ new resin-cast, custom-painted pin-on piece
7.) Lengths of darkened metal chain hand-sewn into the yellow inner coat flap lining & slightly reinforced
8.) Arrangement of Pips, Squeaks & Rank Insignia on cuff band & shoulder strap revised & finalized

Almost all changes I intended for the uniform this year are finally complete! The only real remaining "change" is more of an add-on; it's a new prop that I'm in discussions with a propmaker to try to create. I can't say anything for sure right now because this shop won't even be able to attempt the piece until July, but if they can do it, I'll be excited to get ahold of it. The uniform itself, however, is back in the alterations shop for now because a snap started coming loose and needs to be resewn; I won't get it back until Saturday.
